This product contains mainly the stokes drift estimated from SWIM spectra. The stokes drift is the wave-induced component of the total ocean surface current.
For the first time, a spaceborne sensor can measure this component in terms of amplitude and direction. It enables to better characterize wave-current interactions, particularly in areas of highly turbulent surface energy (circumpolar zone,…).

  3. Extended wavelength scale (22-1117 m) for SWIM wave spectra
