40th anniversary for the French space geodesy research centre
GRGS (Groupe de Recherche de Géodésie Spatiale), the French space geodesy research centre celebrates its 40 years of research on 17 February 2011.

Funded in 1971, GRGS is a scientific group that inludes 10 french research teams belonging to national institutions with activities in space geodesy: calibration for altimetry data, terrestrial and celestial reference systems, Earth's motion, gravitational field of Earth, localisation of ground Doris beacons, orbital mechanics...
