Sentinel-6B traveling from Europe to its launch base in California
The next reference altimetry satellite, Copernicus Sentinel-6B, has begun its journey to the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California (USA), where it is scheduled to launch on November 16th.

Sentinel-6B (Cnes/ESA/Eumetsat/Nasa/Noaa, part of european program Copernicus) will take over Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, as reference mission, continuing the uninterrupted time series begun with Topex/Poseidon 33 years ago. They will follow each other closely, so as to calibrate the new satellite on its predecessor.
