We are pleased to inform you that:
1/ there is a new dataset of multimission gridded sea level heights and velocities in v2.0 obtained with the Multiscale Inversion of Ocean Surface Topography (MIOST) mapping approach. This method is fully described in Ubelmann et al. (2021) and has been successfully applied and validated in open-ocean regions (Ballarotta et al., 2023). This dataset is now available to the community and experts to gather further validation and feedback, with the goal of implementing it in production in the coming months or years.
2/ the multimission gridded sea level heights and velocities dataset in v2.0 obtained with the Optimal Interpolation (OI) mapping method (Bretherton et al., 1976) has been actualized with the addition of the formal error variables.
The methodology for the Polar Oceans products is detailed in Veillard et al., 2024.
